K. D. Markley Elementary - Ms. Tilles' First Grade Class

We are in First Grade at K.D. Markley Elementary School. Our school is in Malvern, Pennsylvania. It is a suburb, so we live in neighborhoods with lots of backyards and parks. It is a fun town to live in. We have parades on holidays. There are lots of activities like soccer, Brownies, and Cub Scouts.

Our town is close to the city of Philadelphia. We love to cheer for the Phillies and the Eagles. There are a lot of museums and cool historical sites to see in Philadelphia. There is even a zoo!

There are 21 friends in our class and we work hard to be welcoming to everyone. Our teacher is named Miss Tilles. Everyday, we have Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop. We have Math, Work Stations, Social Studies, and Science too. We love to go to our special classes like Art and Gym. We have two pets- a hermit crab and a fish. Our favorite part of the day is Morning Meeting, where we greet each other and start the day off smiling!

Meet our Flat Stanley!

Favorite Food- Pancakes…because they are flat just like him!

Favorite School Subject- Reading books

Favorite Sport- Frisbee- Sometimes he even lets the other kids play Frisbee with HIM!

Special Talents- Tightrope Walking (he is great at balancing) and Juggling

Our Flat Stanley is super sly. If you ever have a mystery that needs to be solved, our Flat Stanley’s your man! He can sneak around and hide is small places to watch what happens. Let us know if Flat Stanley helps you solve any mysteries while he is visiting with you!

Have a great time with Stanley. We can’t wait to hear all about his adventures!

Hello MS Tille's Class, I am here in Akron, NY and I am having a wonderful time!
I've been to the Library and we rean "Bear Noel", I really liked it. I went home with chelsea and we jumped rope and ate spaghetti and meatballs, mmmmmmmmm.
One day we got a special lunch with the Principal and I went to see my very first NHL hockey game, I saw the Buffalo Sabres play, wow was that fun!
I am looking forward to my next journey and will write to you soon.
Your New Friends,
Mrs. Bellis's 2nd Grade & Stanley
